Under a woven canopy
3rd solo exhibition
April 11 - May 4, 2008
Cultural Center of the Philippines
--------------------
Under A Woven Canopy is a joint project with Haribon Foundation. In line with issues of rainforestation and threatened species, this exhibition aims to increase viewers’ environmental consciousness. Trees with swirl branches act as dainty finger-like projections carrying precious starry fruits, the priceless gifts that trees nurture with their lives. Vivid panoramas of animal abstracts remind us that life on earth is not about a single species’ dominance, but about dependence on its inhabitants’ interconnections, such as that of a woven mat. Through this collection, viewers are reminded that all depend on life brought to us by nature, and that we all share this world under a woven canopy.
